Earlier this month we roadtripped to Minnesota, making a stop at Badlands National Park along the way.
During this Badlands visit we decided to hike the Door Trail, which is a nice and easy hike of only .75 miles roundtrip. The first .25 miles is a wheelchair accessible boardwalk, with the remainder of the trail being a mostly flat hike marked with numbered yellow posts. What a way to feel like you’re hiking on another planet!
While it was a comfy 50 degrees on our visit, the Badlands can get very hot during the summer so bring plenty of water. Also, always remember to keep an eye out for rattlesnakes as there are plenty of cracks and crevices for them to hide out in. Big horn sheep can also sometimes make an appearance in this part of the park.
